For a Logging Operation, the Logger Tracker provides for Production / Block Costing Analysis.:

 

·         Supports multiple blocks, with multiple landings, and delivery to multiple mills within the same contract. Time sensitive conversions maintained based on multiple stratums/sorts

 

·         Block Costing, broken down by the phase, based on equipment and labour components, along with user-defined availability and utilization ratios.

 

·         Equipment / contractor / operator rates may vary depending on activity.

 

·         Allows for Operator counts; each phase may be assigned a count requirement based on different units; Counts allow for differing species and log types.

 

·         Operator Pay may include hourly, shift and piece work combinations, rates may vary according to the type work and locale of, as recorded on Production Tickets.

 

·         Operator / contractor production pay may be based MFBM, Volume, Tonnage or Trip; as recorded on Load Tickets.

 

·         Overtime calculations, statutory pays and banked hours handling are user defined.

 

·         Production pay rates may vary due to unit number, operator, logging phase, log type, species, and receiving mill.

 

·         Multiple activities by personnel or contractors is easily handled by having Production Ticket identification being entered as a Header and any activities to be recorded from the Ticket entered as details.  Tickets have an unlimited number of detail entries.

 

·         Camp generated Block activity information may be electronically transferred to the main information database.

 

·         Pay deductions are user-defined and include % of pay or by trip.

 

·         Logging pay rates may vary for species and / or log types and based on Piece Work, Hour, Volume and/or Tonnage.

For a Load and Haul Operation, the Logger Tracker provides for Transport and Hauling Analysis.

 

·         Support for deliveries of varied paid sorts, to different mills, using different configuration of trailers and haul roads.

 

·         Multiple winter seasons (or spring break seasons) may be defined, along with their adjusted gross vehicle weight, either on a system wide or contract/block basis.

 

·         Gross vehicle weight maintained by configuration, spread and road type. Placard numbering system is maintained for configuration identification.

 

·         Contractor / Driver pay methods include Hourly, MFBM, Volume, Tonnage or Trip.

Driver pay may be set as percentage of truck earnings (individualized or fleet-wide).

 

·         Contractor / Driver pay rates may vary due to unit number, driver, configuration, spread, log type, species, receiving mill, source block and landing.

 

·         In Load Ticket entry; truck number, licence number, or placard number may be used for unit recognition.

 

·         Allocation of Load Tickets to contractors and operator, for phase activity, is fast and easy.  The system allows for previous entry defaults and able to split a load for any phase responsible in as many ways as required.

 

·         Electronic uploads and downloads of Load Ticket information. Your primary mill is included in your purchase.

 

·         Pay deductions are User defined and include % of pay or by trip.

 

·         Payouts to all parties which may have incurred a receivable from Timber Hauling operations (i.e., Loaders, Trucks, Drivers, etc).

The Logger Tracker will streamline your pay-outs to Contractors, Operators. Haulers and/or /Drivers.  Flexibilities of the system allow for any load being given its own pay method and/or pay rate.

Set-Up and Training

 

The software may be easily loaded using directives given, on the Note-Pad, when installing the Sampler and Help-Files directives.  Demo movies, sampler data and help-files are provided for ease of User familiarization.

 

Once a User is ready to commence loading their operation's information into the system , interaction, with our offices, may prove beneficial. 

 

Therefore, with each primary licencing, we provide :

 

·       3 staggered half days of PC Anywhere / Voice Support (with intermediary call-backs)

·       or 3 staggered half days of Voice Support  (with intermediary call-backs)

·        For expenses and a $ 500 a day charge,, we will do On-Site Installation and Training, with Accounting / Office personnel; Woodlands personnel appreciated for first day and a half.
 

We appreciate staggering the training as this allows for User maturity and familiarity of use prior to training sessions. 

 

On-Going Support

 

·         Our offices are receptive to calls from our Users.  We do not charge for calls, from competent Users, for reminders/problems/solutions and / or general discussions.  Once you are an established User, calls to our offices may not be required but may be found expedient.  Charges would only be incurred on special system changes (quotes provided) and due to such situations as staffing changes / inadequacies, network, telecommunications, hardware, etc. problems.
 

 

On-Going Development

 

·         The Logger Tracker has been evolving since 1986 and it will continue to evolve as Forestry practices, logging methods and hauling parameters change. Our customers find their needs changing along their changing logging / hauling conditions; BCS Woodlands Systems are meeting and will continue to meet those changing requirements.

 

Customization of Implementations

 

·         BCS Woodlands has found that most operations have their own specific needs. Therefore, all installations are analyzed for System enhancement possibilities.  We'll tweak what's required to finalize a fit to your operations.

·       600MZ plus with 256k plus of internal memory (general axiom. the faster and the bigger, the better).

·       100 megs of hard disk space for overhead and 20 megs of hard disk per season of operation (based on approximations of 500,000 ton or 500,000 tonnes  with 50 ton loads and 2.5 trees to the ton)

·       Microsoft Windows from '95 to XP.

·       Monitor resolution of 800 by 600 (design basis).
